Jeff Coopersmith

Jeffrey A. Coopersmith

Mr. Coopersmith, Managing Partner of Core Properties, has been an active business entrepreneur and real estate developer/investor for over 35 years. During the past decade he has been acquiring and/or developing hotels, apartments, medical office buildings and retail centers. Core Properties' extensive market-based relationships and risk-minimization strategies have provided a strong foundation for the company's growth during this period.

Mr. Coopersmith has acquired or founded and subsequently sold three companies during his business career and he has served as President of each of them. The first company so acquired was Distribution Centers Inc., which was purchased in 1980. In 1987 Mr. Coopersmith acquired Directel, Inc. and in 1993 started Triplefin LLC, an Ohio based direct marketing operations company that provides inbound and outbound customer service, credit management, product distribution and database management. He sold Triplefin in 1999 to a New York based marketing company.

Mr. Coopersmith had been active in the direct marketing and direct distribution business for most of his career. He authored over 30 business articles as well as the fulfillment section of the Direct Marketing Handbook. He was a frequent lecturer having spoken at many Direct Marketing Association, Council of Logistic Management and Warehouse Education and Research Council annual conferences. He has been and is currently on many central Ohio business and community boards. He is past Chairman of World Presidents Organization (Columbus chapter) and Past President of The Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus and currently is Chairman of the Columbus Jewish foundation.

He was elected to Young Presidents Organization in 1984, Who's Who in America in 1988 and World Presidents Organization in 1996. In 1991 he was a finalist for Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year. He received his BS in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1967) and his MBA from the Ohio State University (1979).

Benjamin Horn

Mr. Horn, a partner at Core Properties LLC, has worked in commercial real estate development and brokerage for over 15 years. Prior to joining Core, Ben was Senior Vice President at Equity Inc, one of the country's largest commercial developers. Ben is also a former Vice President of Real Estate at Prudential DHG, where he specialized in the acquisition and disposition of corporate real estate assets throughout the United States. Ben has over $800 Million of transactional experience in virtually every major asset class of commercial property.

Ben is a graduate of The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and earned his post graduate Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute.

Ben spends a great deal of his time sourcing and analyzing real estate opportunities through his vast network of banks, special servicers, brokers, and owners of institutional quality properties in markets and asset classes that we have targeted for acquisition.

Ben has been involved in many non-profit organizations; including United Way, City Year, Early Childhood Learning and Development, and is currently on the Board of Directors of The Ohio State University Hillel. Ben resides in Bexley, Ohio with his wife Lisa and their two children.

Michael A. Levin

Michael Levin, a Partner at Core Properties, has been involved in real estate and investment banking over the past 16 years. Prior to joining Core Properties in 2007, he worked as an investment banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at both Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns. He analyzed and structured transactions for Fortune 500 clients, as well as top private equity firms. He also spent time at a $1 billion opportunistic real estate fund called Tiger Real Estate Partners, where he executed transactions in the multifamily, office, and industrial segments. Prior to obtaining his MBA from Duke University, he co-founded an integrated marketing firm which he used to conduct a roll-up strategy in the Marketing Services industry and ultimately created a company with over $50 million in billings.

Mr. Levin's main responsibilities at Core are to analyze, negotiate, structure, and execute all transactions. His analytical and deal structuring skills have played a key role in Core's growth over the last few years.

In 2001, Mr. Levin was a finalist for Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year award in Columbus Ohio. That same year he also received Business First's 40 under 40 award for both philanthropic and business activities. He obtained his Bachelor of Science and Business Administration from Boston University (receiving the Capstone Award) and his MBA from Duke University.

Shai Zak

Mr. Zak, a Partner at Core Properties, has been involved in investment analysis and investment banking over the past 12 years. Prior to joining Core Properties in 2009 he worked at Duff & Phelps LLC, where he valued illiquid investments held by hedge funds and buyout funds. Many of these investments included real estate projects and pools of real estate assets.

Prior to that, Mr. Zak worked for Ernest & Young LLP in the Structured Finance Group packaging CDO securities. His work included analysis of the underlying retail and commercial mortgages and the assets backing those mortgages.

During his MBA program Mr. Zak worked for Zapolski & Rudd LLC, a privately-owned real estate investment, development and management firm located in Durham North Carolina. Prior to obtaining his MBA from Duke University, Mr. Zak worked for Ocsar Gruss & Son Inc. in equity sales and trading and later in equity research.

Mr. Zak obtained his Bachelor of Economics and Business Administration at Bar Ilan University in Israel and his MBA from Duke University.
